Weather Dial - A Simpler, More Beautiful Weather App App Reviews

Lovely minimalistic style!

The clean style I see makes me think about BROUN of the late 60s. Awesome!

No settings

This app is fine if you are American and get the Fahrenheit only temperatures. No way to alter settings for the rest of the world. Way to go USA!

Nice appearance, potentials in design

Looks really nice, a reduced UI with the most important information about the current weather. Only the big Celsius / Fahrenheit switch is too present! Actually I never switch between these units, I just use ONE of them in my context! So please make this button disappear or smaller or move it or whatever... Edit: It is even worse, every time the app starts it switches back to Fahrenheit :-(

Useless on iPod Touch 4th Gen without location detection

There seems to be no option to enter the location manually, the app is stuck in one screen with no text or information showing up. There shouldve been a warning about this..

Nice

But no functionality

Gorgeous

Wow. I really dont want a weather app, as there is the notification centre, but this was too compelling. The icon is so stunning it even earned a place on my dock of only three apps, which meant I had to bump one off. Simple is always better, but in this case, it most certainly is.

There are problems

I loaded the app to my iPad & it works but, Once I chose to use my current location, I cant change it. When I loaded the App to my iPod & iPhone, it will not work. It did not ask me if I wanted to use my current location so it cannot provide any information.

Awesome App.

Checking the weather forecast isnt boring anymore. I love the design. The functionality is on point to. One of my favorite iPhone apps so far. Looking really forward to see more apps like this. With the update in August this app gets 5*. Very well deserved.

Fix the gps problem

Doesnt seem to let you select your location, rather, it keeps location services on at all times. It also always converts back to Fahrenheit. Please fix, because other than those glitches, the app is amazing.

Forecast is completely wrong

I just downloaded this today. It is reporting that it is Sunny and 30°C outside. In fact its cloudy and 23°C. How can it be that far off? Is it the locations services? I am in Canada, maybe it thinks Im in Sunny New York City today. Very disappointed.

Shows wrong weather most of the times.

Beautiful UI, lacking functionality. No way to see if the location is right. Almost useless. Please fix it!

Doesnt work.

Blank screen, no options. Broken, dont buy this.

Very good app, beautiful design

The app is very well made. Its design is beautiful and its a completely new experience when looking at your weather forecast. The only issue that I have found was the accuracy of the forecast. It was sunny at midday, but the app showed stormy weather. Checking with Yahoos weather service, there was a 30% chance of storms in the evening. So the app told me that the chance of storm was already fact. I think this can easily be improved by the programmers. Still, I rate the app five stars. Very good work, guys!

Beautiful but useless

Sorry to put such a harsh review in, but this is exactly what you get when you focusing everything on design and nothing on the technical aspect. First, it doesnt turn off location services, which means its draining my battery! I am sure its just a bug but its kind of sad. Secondly, it reports the wrong weather. Its cloudy outside, and it says its sunny lol. Again all beauty but no brains in the app. Finally, if I am using a weather app, as a user I usually want to know the weather a few hours ahead. This doesnt let me do that. I am sure you chose to not build that to keep it simple. But simple doesnt always mean removing the key functionality. Its a little harder than that. Beauty is as much in the technical details as it is in the visuals. I am sorry but this does injustice to his principles. I would have not posted such a review if it didnt claim to be obeying the 10 principles.

Design without Legibity

I find it too hard to read the week ahead forecast below and the font slightly too thin It is near impossible to read outside because it has zero contrast, I dont really care about it following the 10 Principles of Design, it needs to be legible at the very least on a mobile device

No memory of C

I used the app with Celsius and when restarting the app it had forgot this setting.

Gorgeous and nearly useless

Most of the planet uses the metric system, but this app defaults to Imperial on every open. Functionally, the iOS hour-by-hour weather forecast leaves this app in the dust and makes it nearly impossible to justify paying for a pretty but limited and poorly-planned weather app.

Not quite Dieter Rams

Would be nice if the app recognized that it was night! 11pm and Im told it is sunny! Also the grey tones are not quite Dieter Rams, could do with some more work, please!!

Beautiful but buggy

This is gorgeous but needs fixes. As other people have mentioned, the location GPS continues to run after leaving the app. This drains the battery, so I ended up turning it off, rendering the app useless unless I go back into my settings to turn it back on. Other issues: It said it was sunny out when its evening. It defaults to Fahrenheit.

Dont publish beta

This App is clearly a beta and should as such be free.
